Betfair Android app review
When you’re watching the footy Betfair seem to be everywhere with their enhanced prices and quick cash out options. As you’d except from such an expensive marketing campaign the Betfair android app has all the features to back it up. We’re talking loads of on going offers, great prices and some great cash out options on most sports book markets. The more serious punters have the option of back and lay bets on the Exchange.
Acca Edge – This is a new feature that is only currently offered by Betfair and it gives you the chance to cover your bets at a cost. Basically if you have a treble of greater on selected markets you can take a lower odds return in exchange for your money back if you miss by one. This is similar to acca insurance offers which usually start at 5/6 results. Its a great option to take as you secure the bet and you can still cash out as usual too!
Horse racing – The Betfair app is a good one for horse racing fans with the usual daily markets back with a good number of futures markets – here at bettingapps.co.uk we love a bit of early price value on Cheltenham especially. They’ve all the big races from around the world to bet on and the Cheltenham markets are open for the next year as soon as this years races have finished – they usually price this years winner into the mix with other front runners. They are often non runner no bet on the Championship races at Cheltenham well before the event too.
From the horse racing home page you can find the days races and markets, along with todays most popular bets. You can tab through the meetings and race times to build your acca. Where the Betfair app differs to its rivals is the race information – you don’t get the spotlight preview from the racing post unlike the bet365 app for android. You do get the riders colours, form, age and weight and if you tap into it you get a small write up on the horse and its previous performances.
Racing cash out – Another innovative part of Betfair racing is the super quick cash out in running on all UK racing. This is again only available with Betfair and means you can cash out whilst the race is being run with just a 9 second delay. To do this you will have to be quick but its well worth just in case your runner falls.
Price rush – You may have seen their price rushes on the TV Adverts or twitter feed. These apply to the correct score, over 2.5 and over 3.5 markets for singles bets. What happens is the bet is shown at the sports book odds (standard pricing) and if there is a better price on the exchange then you can be “rushed” to that price. There have been some big swings too with bets going from 40/1 up to 60/1, if you’re betting on these markets then the price rush coupon is available in the football section of the Betfair android app.
Casino – You can access the casino from the top tabs on the Betfair android app and if you’ve never used it before you get £5 completely free to play with – always a bonus! This can be spent on any slots and all you need to do to claim is go to the promotions tab on the casino home page and tap “opt in”. The casino app is a little boxy and not as slick looking as the sports book app but its very stable and easy to use.
First launched in 2000. Betfair has quickly become a force to be reckoned within the betting world. As well as offering a plethora of betting options and online arcade games, Betfair has branched out further and has hosted its own Betfair Radio service.
Betfair was the brainchild of Andrew Black, a British businessman who wanted to offer customers a way of betting by cutting out the middleman. As such, the business saw its customers bet against each other via its online betting exchanges as opposed to using a bookmaker, and became one of the first betting exchanges to grace the Internet back in 2000.
As Betfair goes from strength-to-strength, so does its betting platform. Having already invested a great deal of time and money in bringing its website into the 21st century, Betfair now has its own Android app, giving its customers a plethora of betting options at their fingertips, but how does it weigh up against its competitors?
When it comes to using apps on the go, simplicity is often key. And this is true in the case of Betfair. Although the app allows visitors to view a number of events that they are able to place a bet on, the experience never feels cumbersome. Soft colours are matched with responsive controls, even on the smallest of screens, ensuring that any bet placed via the app is stress-free and straightforward.
Navigation around the Betfair Android app is something of a breeze, where in most instances, bets can be placed with the simple swipe of your thumb, ideal for those who may be watching sports while out socialising.
When it comes to making a bet, you can rest assured that the Betfair Android app has you covered. There are literally thousands of markets available, and each can be found easily within the app. As well being able to place bets ‘in play,’ users are also able to update their current bets, or even cancel them.
Live scores can also be monitored from the app, and users are able to bookmark markets that are of particular interest to them, as well as being able to peruse market other market suggestions made by the app.
The Betfair app also offers a cash-out feature on a number of different sporting events, one of the best cash out apps on android. This means that as well as placing bets on the go, you can also collect your winnings while mobile, meaning there is very little need to login into a desktop unless you choose to.
There is even a security feature for those who that additional peace-of-mind. Users of the app can set up a security code for when they open the app, meaning that if the phone is ever misplaced, or in the vicinity of those deemed a little less trustworthy, you know that there won’t be any financial ramifications.
Despite offering customers a portal to a plethora of different events and newsfeeds, the app very rarely feels cumbersome, with users being able to find what they’re looking for within a matter of seconds.
Betfair is a solid contender in the world of betting apps, and while the offers available are normally used to bring in new customers, there are still enough promotions to whet the appetite of any sports fanatic.
The overall aesthetics and response of the app is something to be desired. A number of events are categorised neatly, meaning that you very rarely fail to find the event you’re looking for. The option to place bets ‘in-play’ and cash-out means that a series of bets can be placed from the handset itself, making the overall experience enjoyable.
Those who are more seasoned betters may find that some of the features can be limited. For example, although the app offers streaming of horse racing, it is limited and doesn’t extend to other events. That said, the evolving of 4G across mobile devices may mean that a number of apps are able to contend with longer streams of sporting events. But for now, it means you can only gain results of events once the scores are updated.
That said, the updating of scores is very fast, so despite not being able to view the event, you at least know the results of the bet you placed. Add to this the very accurate market rates, and users are left with an aesthetically-pleasing Betfair android app with a plethora of benefits.
