The Championship has long been one of the most exciting leagues in Britain and last season proved no exception.
For much of the season Leeds looked all set to earn promotion to the Premier League, but after a spying scandal it all went wrong, allowing Norwich, Sheffield United and Aston Villa to take the spoils.
2019/20 will likely have just as much drama and here at Betting Apps we’ll bring you the most up-to-date Championship odds right throughout the season.
Championship Outright Winner 2019/20 Odds
Two teams are automatically promoted to the Premier League, but only one will be crowned champion.
Marco Bielsa has agreed to another year at Elland Road which has put Leeds in the box seat with most online betting apps. William Hill are placing them at 9/2 favourites, ahead of both Fulham and Cardiff, both of whom were relegated from the Premier League last season.
The latter were perhaps a little unlucky to be relegated last season, so could prove good value at 10/1.
The odds for the Championship outright winner 2019/20 are:
- Leeds: 9/2
- Fulham: 8/1
- Cardiff: 10/1
- West Brom: 10/1
- Stoke: 12/1
- Middlesbrough: 14/1
- Derby: 16/1
- Huddersfield: 16/1
Championship Promotion 2019/20 Odds
As you’d probably expect, the order of favourites don’t swing too much from those above, but playing this market could make for more sensible betting as there are three opportunities for sides to earn promotion.
Leeds are favourites to be promoted, but 3/1 odds on both West Brom and Cardiff will see plenty of money placed on them.
bet365 are offering the market on their mobile betting app with the odds currently priced at:
- Leeds: 15/8
- Fulham: 9/4
- Cardiff: 3/1
- West Brom: 3/1
- Stoke: 7/2
- Middlesbrough: 4/1
- Brentford: 9/2
- Huddersfield: 5/1
- Nottingham Forest: 5/1
- Derby: 11/2
Championship Top 6 Finish Odds
For those who don’t make it into the automatic promotion slot, the Playoffs are the final opportunity to seal promotion to the Premier League. That means finishing in the top six.
For the bigger sides, you won’t find much value. Currently, Leeds, Fulham, West Brom and Cardiff are already odds-on with Paddy Power, however there are always a few surprises.
While Derby have lost Frank Lampard they have signed well in Phillip Cocu to drive them towards another Playoff run, while Middlesbrough at 15/8 will also be another popular outside bet.
The current odds on teams to finish in the top six of the Championship are:
- Leeds: 2/5
- Fulham: 4/5
- Cardiff: 10/11
- West Brom: 10/11
- Stoke: 6/4
- Middlesbrough: 15/8
- Huddersfield: 2/1
- Derby: 21/10
- Brentford: 21/10
- Bristol City: 11/4
- Sheffield Wednesday: 11/4
Championship Relegation 2019/20 Odds
Of course, where there’s promotion there is also relegation and some of those clubs that struggled last season will once again be fighting for survival.
The likes of QPR, Reading and Millwall will all be looking to avoid the drop, while newly promoted Barnsley and Charlton aren’t being given much hope by betting apps, with Betway pricing them both at 9/4 to be relegated.
Joining the pair as favourites to be relegated from the Championship include:
- Barnsley: 9/4
- Charlton: 9/4
- Millwall: 3/1
- QPR: 3/1
- Reading: 3/1
- Wigan: 3/1
- Luton: 4/1
- Birmingham: 9/2
- Blackburn: 5/1
- Hull: 5/1
