Steven Gerrard appears to be putting his contacts list in to good use at Aston Villa. Phillipe Coutinho has already jumped aboard the Villa ship and rumours are circulating that Gerrard has also been on the blower to his good friend Luis Suarez.
It is largely speculated that Suarez is looking for a return back to England and reacquainting himself with trusted teammates looks like the perfect ticket to accomplish that.
The Uruguayan forward is coming towards the end of his career. At 34, there won’t be too many seasons left in him and as he is being rotated in and out at Atletico Madrid, he may feel his services could be better used elsewhere.

What Sort Of Deal Is Likely?
A short term deal seems to be the most logical here. Suarez has let it be known that he would like to end his career playing in America. His contract expires in the summer, so a loan deal with an option to buy could be put on the table in the January transfer window. However, a move at the start of next season is the more likely, in my opinion.
However, Suarez still possesses the quality in his legs to compete in a much better league, so a deal in England that doesn’t tie him down could look appealing, especially if wages were maintained.
Are Any Other Clubs Interested?
According to Gerard Romero, Brazilian and Saudi clubs have been approaching Suarez’s representatives enquiring about his availability and future intentions.
Romero has stated that Suarez has respectfully shut down those conversations as a return to England is the preferred way forward for him.

Coutinho And Suarez On The Same Wavelength
Suarez and Coutinho partnering back up would certainly add a whole new dimension to Aston Villa’s play. Coutinho has already made his presence feel known, scoring on his debut against Manchester United to earn Villa a valuable point.
If he were to get the opportunity to feed his killer balls through to a deadly finisher like Suarez once more, it could well turn things around for Aston Villa and make them more like a club capable of being in and around the top six places.
The naughty, cheating, biting days of Suarez are behind him. He seems to have calmed down and matured over the years, without losing that hunger to contribute and score goals. He comes with very little risk to the reputation of Aston Villa and would potentially boost shirt sale figures.
The deal would certainly make sense for both parties involved. However, is it more wishful thinking or is Suarez contemplating Aston Villa and reuniting with Gerrard and Coutinho as hard as Gerard Romero is suggesting?
What Odds Can I Get On Suarez Joining Aston Villa?
