Chelsea have just sacked Thomas Tuchel after a disappointing start to the season. Three consecutive away defeats, with the last one being in the Champions League has seemingly forced the board’s hand to bring in some fresh blood.
Tuchel fell out with the board at Dortmund and PSG and now it is now emerging he did not see eye to eye with those at Chelsea. Whatever the reason for departure, Chelsea are now in the market for a new manager and as such, the next permanent Chelsea manager betting market has been hitting up.
Who is favourite to be the new Chelsea manager?
Brighton manager Graham Potter is odds on favourite at time of writing at odds of 8/15. It is reported that Brighton have given Potter permission to open negotiations with Chelsea. He has done a fantastic job at Brighton, who currently sit 4th in the Premier League table – something that has obviously caught Chelsea’s attention.Â
It is also reported that Chelsea have also approached Mauricio Pochettino, putting him second favourite at 5/1.
Zinedine Zidane and Julian Nagelsmann fall next in the pecking order at 16/1 and 25/1 respectively, with Brendan Rodgers next at 28/1.
The Leicester manager looks fresh out of ideas with only one point coming from their opening six Premier League fixtures. This could make Rodgers available for service if the club decide to part ways.
However, Chelsea considering someone who was on a downward trajectory in their previous role, although plausible, doesn’t seem likely in my opinion, based on their current circumstance.
Here’s a full list of the contenders available for backing and their odds in the next Chelsea manager betting market.
