Where Can I Bet On Transfers?

Many betting apps will offer markets on transfers, particularly in the build-up to the transfer window, although you’ll likely be able to receive odds on them any time with a bookmaker’s request-a-bet service.

Which betting apps have transfer betting?

Here are the most popular apps in the UK and where to find the markets

Bet Victor App Transfer Betting

Bet Victor has our recommended app for transfer betting. At our time of testing, they had an excellent range of markets that were easy to find and place bets on. They have a good choice of transfer betting specials outside of the main windows, which most do not offer.

To find the transfer markets open the app and tap on football on the home page menu. Nest slide the top football menu to the left until you see the “specials” tab. Tap this and you will find a sub-menu where you can choose from the following –

  • PFA Player specials
  • Manager specials
  • England player specials
  • Transfer specials
  • Team specials

Once you tap into a menu you get a list of the markets as shown below –

Bet365 App Transfer Betting

bet365 has a smaller selection of transfer betting markets than others that we have reviewed and they are hidden away from view.

They do not have a sack race market and have very limited transfer markets. Their markets for the next manager only seem to appear once a manager has been sacked. The transfer betting markets are not around all year. If you want to regularly bet on transfers then bet365 is not the app for this.

To find out if the markets are available open the app and tap search. Look for the player’s name or search “manager” for the next manager’s market as shown below.

As you can see at the time of this search there was only one market open. At the time, only Wolves were managerless in the Premier League.

Paddy Power App Transfer Betting

The Paddy Power app has a good range of markets on offer although this varies around the time of year. They have more manager’s markets available outside the transfer windows and an occasional market on a player if there is some speculation around them.

To find the markets open the app and tap on football. On the top menu scroll across to the left to find the specials tab. Now you have to scroll down past the featured prices and the #Whatodds section to find the markets.

At the time of checking these were the markets available, these are subject to change at any time. See the app for the current markets.

What Is Football Transfer Betting?

Transfer betting is placing bets on players to move clubs or to stay. These fall into two markets, betting on a player club at a certain date, usually, the day after the transfer window closes. The second market is betting on a player’s next team with an open-ended date.

The transfer market is big business not only for clubs but for those betting on them too. All it involves is betting on the next club of a player and will regularly be found on betting apps in the ‘Transfer Specials’ or ‘Next Club’ section of a football betting site. Here’s an example of the betting on Paul Pogba’s next club

It’s a market that is incredibly popular over the summer months, particularly with no matches to bet on. It also hots up once again around December ahead of the January transfer window.

When Is The English Transfer Window?

Most of us will want to back players to leave in the English market as it’s the league most of us follow, so it’s important to know when players can or can’t move throughout the season.

In England, the transfer window for Premier League and Football League clubs is split into two, with transfers possible in the summer and throughout January.

This has changed recently, with the summer window now closing before the football season starts in August, a move that hasn’t spread across European football.

Currently, the transfer window in England runs from around May 17- August 9 and January 1-31. As you’d expect, the summer window sees the majority of the action with the total fees often hitting the £1billion mark.

When Are Transfer Windows Across Europe?
