World Cup betting tips guide
#Betofthetounament – We’re starting with our absolute best bet for the tournament and this one’s only available through Coral.
Germany to score over 5.5 goals in the group stages – Evens – With an average 3.8 goals pre game in qualifying this is an outstanding bit of value for a fantastic German team.
Player of the tournament tips – For me this is the hardest pick of them all as you need their team to do well as well as them to play in all the games and play well. Usually a player that wins is on that gets to the final, although Diego Forlan broke this trend in 2010. Here’s my four best picks for some value, I’ve added who the best price is with as there’s a real difference across the bookies on this market.
Marco Reus 40/1 & Mario Gotze 35/1 (Sky bet – Click here for £30 free) – Reus has had a great season at Dortmund and is likely to play a key role for Germany in a forward role along with Gotze. I couldn’t pick between the two so I’ve gone with both!
Arjen Robben 66/1 & Van Persie 66/1 (bet365 – Click here for £200 in free bets) – Robben is a key player for Holland and if they do well he will be crucial, with questions being raised over the fitness of Ribery if Holland progress Robben (and Robin Van Perise) will be key players.
Japan to win group C – 5.5 on Betfair (Click here for £50 risk free) – This group is wide open and Japan are a well organised tidy team, this price represents some great value.
Iran to concede most goals – 5/1 with Boylesport – Good price for one of the tournaments whipping boys.
Ecuador – To finish bottom & to not get a point 5.6 & 31 – Ecuador to qualify is our lay of the tournament and these prices are also worth a small back.
Group stage Goliath
I’m going for a big one with one bet from each group as a goliath, this bet returns £2,239 if they all win from a 20p a line stake (total stake = £49.40) I’m also taking it as a straight acca at 526/1 – Due to the markets this can only be backed with Paddy Power (Click here for a £50 free bet). I’ve gone for a couple of outsiders and there’s some better value to be had if you take them as singles.
Group B – Chile not to qualify 1.73
Group C – Japan to qualify 2.2
Group D – England to qualify 1.62
Group E – Ecuador not to qualify 1.73
Group F – Bosnia to qualify 1.83
Group G – USA to qualify 3.75
Group H – Russia to win the group 3.2
World Cup lay betting tips
Lay tips – As always we like a lay at around evens or less and think we’ve found a couple of corkers, unfortunately Columbia have already drifted from our first noted price due to Falcao being ruled out.
#Layofthetournament – Stats wise this is an absolute belter!
Ecuador to qualify from group E – 2 – Ecuador’s form away from home is absolutely abysmal with them failing to win any games outside Ecuador in qualifying. Along side this they’ve only won one game in the Copa America in the last 16 losing 14. This is a phenomenal price to lay them in a group with France and Switzerland.
Columbia to win group C – 2 – Another great lay for a team with out their Talisman, we’re also taking a lay on them to qualify at 1.34
