The William Hill Megaways slot is a progressive jackpot with reels that have the possibility of offering over 100,000 ways to win. There’s big cashout prizes on offer as well as a variety of feature bonuses that prevents the game from getting dull and monotonous. Read on to find out more about this slots game, along with our overall thoughts.
Exclusive to William Hill
This game is, of course, exclusive to William Hill. Therefore if you want to get involved playing it, you’re going to need to have a William Hill account.
If you haven’t got one already, you can sign up from the link below and also benefit from a new customer bonus.
Megaways Game Layout
The slot is a 6 reel game, with three to seven symbols per reel. However, there is also a horizontally scrolling reel at the top that lines up with the centre four vertical reels. This reel is the only reel to contain wilds. This makes up 117,649 ways to win.
Even though there’s a lot going on, the game is perfectly playable from a mobile phone or tablet. The game is a landscape-only game from mobile phones but everything is more than visible and clear inside the widescreen ratio.
Wins are achieved from a minimum of three symbols matching up on the first three reels (starting from the left) symbols do not have to match up, they just need to run along with consecutive reels.
When a win is achieved, the winning symbols disappear and are replaced with more symbols dropping in. This then provides the chance to build up a combination of wins. Build up a combo of four or more to land yourself in the bonus features. You can see your combo build up by looking at the bonus trail on the left-hand side of the reels.
Bonus Features Available
- 4 x combo – Bonus feature
- 5 x combo – Super feature
- 6 x combo – Mega feature
All bonus features direct you to the bonus wheel but depending on whether the feature is a bonus, super, or mega will depend on the level of multipliers, number of arrows, and free spin amounts shown on the wheel.
When on the bonus wheel, you will need to pick a coin from a selection of three. One will be an arrow, one will be a multiplier boost and one will be to activate the wheel to spin. Ideally, you want to avoid spinning the wheel for as long as possible. Building up the multipliers and chances of entering the inner sections of the wheel is the way forward.
In the instance where free spins are awarded from the bonus, each win from the free spins activates an increase in multiplier. As long as the board continues to drop in wins the multiplier will continue to grow.
There is also a random chance that the Vegas millions bonus feature could be activated. Sadly, this has never happened to me! This bonus can be activated across a range of slots titles that are connected to the Vegas Millions system. Therefore don’t be expecting this to come spinning in after every other spin! That said people do land it. There are varying jackpots available and the amounts increase as you play, the larger the amounts the larger the chances the jackpot feature will spin in.
Thoughts & Opinions
All in all, I really like this game. I find myself playing it quite regularly at the moment. The sound isn’t the greatest but the tune is quite catchy. I find myself annoyingly humming along to it an hour after I have stopped playing. The gameplay isn’t particularly volatile which is quite surprising for a jackpots game. I’ve never won big from this game, but have also never had my funds completely chewed up either.
It goes without saying that the William Hill Megaways game is intended to take in more than it spits out, on the whole. However, I tend to squeeze in a couple of hours of gameplay with minimal damage to my starting balance by the end of the session. If you like the Megaways format of slots games, then the William Hill Megaways game is certainly worth exploring, in my opinion.
