bet365 Position Payout is the latest horse racing product to be launched on to the bet365 app. It offers a whole new way of betting, somewhat simplifying the whole each way process.
We’ve taken a look at this brand new feature. Here’s what we thought.

What Is Position Payout by bet365?
As the name suggests, betting using the Position Payout product focusses on the position your horse finishes in. The higher the position, the bigger the return. It’s pretty much as simple as that.
The returns for each horse and each winning position are clearly shown within the Position Payout race card, making it easy to understand and ideal for beginners to horse racing betting.
How To Bet with bet365 Position Payout
- From the homepage of the bet365 app, head to the horse racing section.
2. Select the race you want to bet on. Tap on the time of the race to open the racecard.
3. Locate the Position Payout option from the horizontal menu bar above the racecard to open up the Position Payout betting options.
Below is an example of the Position Payout betting options.
The race is 5:20 at Cheltenham and payouts are received from any selected horse that finishes in the top four places. In this example number 2 horse Wodhooh is fancied.
If a bet of £10 is placed on Wodhooh:
- £12 will be returned if it finishes 4th
- £16 will be returned if it finishes 3rd
- £20 will be returned if it finishes 2nd
- £45 will be returned if it finishes 1st
Obviously you would want the horse to finish in the top spot, but all is not lost if it doesn’t, with smaller profits being up for grabs if it can finish in the top four places.
This example uses a £10 stake but you can bet anything you like, with a minimum bet amount of just 10p.
Place Multiples
There’s also the option to place a multiple bet using a combination of Position Payout bets. Once you have made a selection in one race, keep it in your bet slip and then head to another race offering Position payout.
Make another selection and the bet slip will update to show multiple betting options. Feel free to make a double, or if you are feeling adventurous, create your own eight-fold position payout bet.
"The brand new way to bet on horse racing, it’s amazing to see bet365 taking such innovative strides with the launch of Position Payout. While sometimes each-way terms can be difficult to understand, Position Payout couldn’t be simpler. The higher your horse finishes, the higher your payout. With prestigious meetings at Goodwood, Galway and York in the coming weeks, we’re excited to see our customers take advantage of our brand new product.”

Future Improvements
While testing we have come to like the concept behind Position Payout. It’s easy to understand and easy to get bets on from the bet365 app. However one are where the position payout betting table falls short on is when it comes to form and statistics.
Form and relevant stats can be found from the main racecard, but are absent once you enter in to the Position Payout section. Therefore we recommend doing all of the necessary digging around the form and guides beforehand and then once you have made an informed decision, head to the Position Payout section to get the bet on.
Our Opinion
bet365 have launched another innovative product on to their app and it is one we like and see value in. It simplifies the whole each way process, making it an ideal way to introduce horse racing betting to the gambling beginners and novices. It also adds options and value to those who have been gambling for years.
We feel more statistical information could be added to make it easier on being able to make an informed choice without having to source the information from elsewhere, but as this is new, this may well be in the pipeline for future updates.
All opinions expressed are solely our own and are based on our experience of using the bet365 app, more specifically, the Position Payout service.
