As the name suggests, sports betting is a key focus of the Sportingbet app. There’s a whole raft of markets here on a range of sports, from racing and tennis to smaller-scale events like handball and the World Rally Championship.

The big football events are a main feature of the app, with upcoming and ongoing matches dominating the home screen. There can be anywhere up to 75 markets for big matches in competitions like the UEFA Champions League and Premier League.

While better odds can often be found elsewhere, Sportingbet remains competitively priced across the vast amount of markets offered.

Appearance And Navigation

The look and design of this app are fairly modernised but use the traditional logo colours of the Sporting Bet brand. Designed specially as an app rather than attempting to integrate the desktop version means that tasks are easy to complete and navigation is straightforward.

There are clear links directly to the most popular sports to bet on. Examples include Football betting, Horse Racing, Tennis, Basketball, and Golf. This means punters quickly get to where they want to be.

The app contains a nice range of game stats and live updates so that users can keep track of how their selections are doing whilst on the move. These stats are available by tapping to view all markets on a particular live event. Up to four different visuals are offered that can be swapped in and out at any time to be displayed at the top of the page. These are:

1. SCORE – A simple narrow banner displaying the up-to-date score of the event. This option allows for a better view of the event markets.
2. ANIMATION – A digital representation of the pitch or court with animated graphics showing and detailing exactly what is happening in the event.
3. STATS – This view lists all of the key statistics from the event in question. The view can be opened up further to show more information by tapping on the “More” button.  From here a stats centre can be opened up offering a whole array of historic data on the teams/players involved. 
4. VIDEO – If live streaming is offered on a particular event, this option will also show in the menu bar. Tapping on it will turn the visual area into a video player, showing the live-action unfold. Please note, that only registered users with a positive account, or who have had activity on their account from the last 24 hours will be able to access the live streams. 

Cash Out

Sportingbet has fair cash-out offers on certain markets. The feature can be easily accessed in times of urgency. Heading to the My Bets section of the app and then viewing “Open” and “Live” bets will clearly display any cash-out options that are being offered at that time. 

Live Streaming

One of the most notable features of this app is the extensive list of coverage options it offers. The live streaming sports videos allows users to keep tabs on their bets even when they can’t get to a TV.

A Bet Builder system has now been integrated in to the Sportingbet app for football and basketball betting. This makes it possible to combine different markets together to create one single bet that requires multiple outcomes. 

For example, in football combining:

1. Team X to win
2. Both teams to score
3. Player X to score first
4. Team X over 5.5 corners
5. Player X to be carded

Odds are shown and updated each time a new selection is added or removed. When happy with the selections and price offered, the user can then add the combined bet to their bet slip, ready for a stake to be set against it.

Casino App

While Sportingbet’s main focus is on professional sports, users will also find several casino options within the app. There’s a wide range of games on offer here, from video slots to table games, classic titles and live casino. This does not have the level of games and slots of a dedicated casino app but is enough for a casual player. 

It’s easy enough to navigate through the games on offer, with bright blue strips giving access to each category. Popular titles are at the top of the screen, while the sidebar can be used to navigate between different types of games in more detail. There’s sure to be a title for every mood here and something to keep each player busy for hours.

Verdict

The Sportingbet app is a solid all-rounder that we believe caters well for both the casual and regular gambler. It doesn’t really excel in any area, but at the same time fails to disappoint in its service. 

The app is reliable and easy to navigate and has enough features to make it a highly competitive player within the UK gambling apps market.

Live streaming on horse racing and a quick bet system would score this betting app higher up in our rankings, but overall it still comes as an app we are happy to stamp our recommendation on.
