How to place a bet on the ladbrokes app

Once your account has been registered and you have funds available, you can now place bets. To place a bet, find an event to bet on.

For this example, we will look at building a small simple football accumulator on the outright win/draw/win market.

From the Ladbrokes homepage, we navigate to the football hub.

football section

We want to bet on matches taking place today so we select the Today’s Football option.

accessing today's football matches

A list of all the upcoming matches that day now shows, along with the odds for the win/draw/win market.

The coupon and market can be modified using the option tabs at the top of the market table. However, as we want the win/draw/win market, we can start assessing the odds and making selections.

football matches list

Selections are made by tapping on the relevant odds box. As selections are made the odds box will turn green.

A blue bar will appear when multiple selections have been made and will instantly update the odds as more selections are added.

The number in the bet slip, located in the top right of the screen will also update to reflect the number of selections made.

Once all selections have been made, we can either tap on the blue bar at the bottom or bet slip on the top right to open up the online bet slip.

how to make a selection

You will see single betting options will be displayed at the top of the page, with multiple options appearing underneath.

It is the multiple options we are interested in, specifically the accumulator. Therefore, we tap on the stake field next to the accumulator option.

entering a stake

A numeric keypad now pops up. We enter our stake, which then activates and enables the Place button.

We check we have entered the stake amount correctly and that we are happy with the potential returns and then tap on the Place Bet button to place the accumulator.

Quick Bet Setting

There is a quick bet setting that by default is enabled when you download the Ladbrokes app. With this enabled, once a selection has been made a quick bet slip pops up automatically at the bottom of the page. All that is required is for a stake to be set and for the Place bet button to be hit for the bet to be placed.

This can be a God send for those who like to place a lot of singles and to those who don’t want to waste time when it comes to placing bets in-play. However, this feature can also be a pain to those who prefer multiples and accumulators. If you are looking to place a bet with multiple selections, the quick bet feature actually forces an extra step as you have to close the quick bet slip down.

If you would prefer for the quick bet feature to be disabled, tap on the user icon from the home page. enter in to tthe settings option and select Betting settings. You should now see an option to turn off the quick bet slip along with biometric login options and to toggle odds between fractions or decimal.

How to check free bets

Free bets can be won, given or earned with Ladbrokes, so it’s always worthwhile logging in frequently to see if there are any opportunities to gain some.

If any free bets are available a small fb icon will appear within the user account icon. Tap on the icon to investigate further.

We have quick bet settings switched on. This is enabled by default but can be switched off from the betting settings. When enabled a quick bet slip will appear once a single selection has been made.

The Quick bet slip shows the odds and has a stake field to be filled. However, there are also preconfigured stake amounts and amongst them is a + FREE BET box (if one is available).

Tapping on the free bet box will open up a list of all available free bets.

How to verify a ladbrokes account

Ladbrokes, along with every other responsible bookmaker, has a duty of care when it comes to its operations. They must do what they can to ensure they are preventing illegal aspects to gambling such as underage gambling, identity fraud and money laundering.

Therefore, Ladbrokes do have verification checks in place that can be asked for at any time.

Examples of when Ladbrokes may want additional information could be when somebody wishes to withdraw funds or if somebody wishes to significantly increase their deposit limits.

If verification is required, Ladbrokes will email you explaining this and detailing what documents to upload.

Tips For Those New To Betting

  • There’s a one minute video on the Ladbrokes safer gambling section that we would recommend those who are new to gambling take the time to watch. The tools mentioned in the video are designed to help you stay in control. We strongly advise making use of them.
  • Keep it simple to start with. Stick to outright markets initially and stick to events you have a genuine interest in.
  • Once you are ready to explore more exotic markets, take the time to fully understand the markets you are betting on. Each market will either have an information icon next to it, providing more detail about it. Failing that, head to the bookmaker rules page where each markets should be clearly defined.
  • If you are betting on a market for the first time (eg, player cards, first goalscorer, set betting in tennis etc.) stick to low stakes. Once you feel more comfortable with what you are betting on, you can then adjust upwards accordingly.
  • Never chase losses – bet only what you are prepared to lose. If you do lose it, accept defeat for that moment and go again once the new payday hits (as long as you have the funds again that you are prepared to lose in the hope of turning a profit. Loss limit is a great tool to help you keep in control in relation to this.

There are various reasons why you may be struggling to log in:

The Ladbrokes app is receiving technical difficulties

We are yet to find a betting app that hasn’t suffered downtime at one time or another. Downtime could be down to a technical glitch or because updates are being applied to the app. In either case downtime is rarely over an hour long.

If you believe you are entering in the correct log in details then it will be worthwhile quickly checking Downdetctor or the Ladbrokes social media pages to see if others are suffering with the same issue. If they are, sit tight and try again in an hour.

You are entering in the wrong log in details

Are you 100% sure you are entering the correct username and password?  If not, we would recommend tapping on the forgot password option to start the password reset process.

Have you checked that sneaky CAPS lock button to make sure it is switched off? This has caused me temporary confusion when trying to log in to systems on many of an occasion!

You have a VPN active

Betting apps require location services to be on to confirm your location. This is to ensure you are in a territory that Ladbrokes are licensed to operate in. A VPN will prevent or disrupt this so be sure to switch any active VPN off before logging in.

Your account has been closed

It could be the case that your account has been closed. If this is the case you should have received an email from the Ladbrokes team explaining this. Check your emails and Spam folders.

None of the above

If you have cancelled out all of the above as being a plausible option as to why you can’t log in, our advice would be to get in touch with Ladbrokes from their social media accounts with a quick message. Response time back here is usually within the hour.

This could be for a number of reasons, such as:

  • There aren’t enough funds available to transfer
  • The card is not registered to your home address
  • The card is not in your name
  • You have hit your set deposit limit
  • There is a temporary technical issue with the depositing service or app

If none of the above match your circumstance, try using a different amount or different payment option. If you are still struggling, get in touch with the Ladbrokes support team

Ladbrokes are required to be able to confirm that every customer falling under their UK license is a resident in the UK. In order to do this they ask for documents to be sent them upon sign up. Ideally they are looking for a driving license or passport. Failing those two items, Ladbrokes will accept a Utility bill showing your name and address as long as it is dated within the last three months.

If you have sent your document, but the verification process has come back failed then Ladbrokes were unable to confirm your home address against your name.

This may have been because:

  • The name and address didn’t match up
  • The image was blurry
  • The utility bill was older than three months
  • The document sent in was classed as unacceptable
  • The whole document was not showing

If you are still flummoxed as to why you have not been verified, go through the process again making sure:

  • The document you are sending is your passport, driving licence or a utility bill from the last three months
  • The image is in focus and all information is clearly readable
  • Make sure all four corners of the document are showing in the image
