Views From The Author

I found the Betdaq exchange to be a decent alternative to Betfair. The liquidity in the markets was good and I never had any issues getting matched on either backing or laying. The ladder view is intuitive, this is a good app for exchange betting.

Quick Take Aways

  • There are two different sports betting apps provided by Betdaq – the Betdaq Exchange betting app for laying bets and the Betdaq sports betting app for normal betting.
  • The app feels like it’s trying to push sportsbooks and casinos on you a little too much for my liking. An exchange app should focus on a more serious punter.

What is this app best for? An exchange alternative to the Betfair app

Meet The Author

The Betdaq Exchange app is one of the few online bookmaker services that allows users to lay bets as well as back them. The platform has the facility, whereby users can put down their own liabilities on selections they believe will not hold true.

Exchange betting is quite a specialised area of betting and as it is not a big money-spinner for the bookmaker, not many bookmakers provide it. As Betdaq are purely hosting this service (inasmuch as money exchanges from the user laying and the user backing) a commission is applied that goes to Betdaq for providing the platform. This is similar to the rake system in poker.

The going rate for commission in the market is 5%. However, Betdaq charge just 2% commission across all of their exchange markets. This alone makes Betdaq a viable choice for those looking to lay bets.

A separate sportsbook app is available too, for those who are just looking to place bets in the regular way.

There’s plenty more to cover on the app itself, but before we delve in to that, take a quick look at this offer currently available:

Aesthetics/Layout

In terms of appearance, There are no bells and whistles present in this betting app. The design is simple and allows an efficient user experience.

The menus are sensibly laid out and enable a straightforward journey. Users can navigate their way to their preferred sports and markets with the minimum of fuss; essential if you’re placing an in-play or time-sensitive wager.

There are nice stabs of colour too, including the trademark BETDAQ purple. So all in all, it’s a nice-looking app that does the job that is required of it.

Functionality

The app looks very similar to most apps in terms of the quick sports links across the top and featured events/in-play on the home screen.

Across the bottom of the app, you will find other handy links including the multiples link for placing accas. The multiples section works more as a standard bookmaker rather than the main part of the app, which is for the exchange market.

Betdaq Exchange Features

Exchange feature list

The App offers all of the features we’d expect, with the exception of a Bet Builder on football bets. We expect this to be added at some point in the future, given the popularity of the system.

Live streaming

Live feeds are available across all UK horse racing and Greyhound racing on the Betdaq app. Access to the streams can be gained from the individual race cards just before the race begins. A minimum of a £1 matched bet on the race in question is required to open up the live stream.

Quick Bet System

There’s no mucking about when it comes to placing quick-fire singles. Upon making a selection, a box immediately pops up containing the selection with an empty stake field, ready for an amount to be entered.

All that is required is to place the relevant amount into the stake field and as soon as one is entered, the potential returns are displayed instantly. Tapping the place bet button then seals the deal.

Detailed Info On Horse Racing

Betdaq has a few interesting extras including pro form guides making it a highly-rated horse racing betting app. This provides all the form and a write-up of each horse’s chances. It is a little more than others offer and goes over and above the standard from the Racing Post data that most other apps use.

All information provided is free for all to see on the app. It is accessed from the bar chart icon found next to the markets on the individual race cards.

Horse Finder

Betdaq also has its unique horse finder on the app. This allows users to select filter options and the app will then find horses based on those rules.

For example, a user may fancy a 4-year-old who previously won at Kempton Park to win. The system will then filter all horses that do not match that description and will only show horses that do.

There are others which have a similar feature but work on a slightly different algorithm. The main one we have covered can be found in our Betvictor App review

In-Depth Stats on Football

Betdaq provides a soccer stats section that is packed full of handy charts and graphs to aid users to make a more informed betting choice. Statistics are available for historic matches, games that are in play, and for those scheduled in the future.

This feature can be found from within the individual match markets, at the top of the page. Users can get insight into metrics such as:

  • Average goals per match
  • Recent Form
  • Average cards per match
  • Average corners per match
  • Head to head history

Casino App

A casino hub is attached to the Betdaq app, offering a range of table games and slots titles as a nice little side-kick to the sports betting service.

This is quite a basic hub when comparing it to dedicated casino apps, but with over 60 different games available, there’s enough here to satisfy the keen sports punter who likes to dabble in a bit of roulette or slots from time to time.

Summary

The Betdaq Exchange app is a brilliant platform for bringing their award-winning exchange to mobile devices.

Back or lay: that decision is down to each user. But the app provides ample opportunity to place wagers, and does so with the minimum of fuss as well.

There’s a whole litany of promotions and bonuses available to help keep user’s bankrolls ticking over, as well as the ability to cash-out bets and wager in-play as the action is unfolding.

We would recommend this service to anyone out there looking to lay bets. For those looking to purely back bets in the traditional manner, there may be more suitable options available.

Other Betdaq Apps

Betdaq Sportsbook app

The Betdaq Sportsbook app eliminates the lay betting ability out of the question and acts just like a traditional bookmaker’s app. All other features, such as cash out and live streaming remain in tact.

There’s a decent layout here and the interface looks a lot more polished compared to the Exchange app. Odds offered are competitive and promotions such as Best odds guaranteed across all UK and Irish horse racing keep users logging in on a regular basis.
